Retinopatia diabetica este o complicatie grava la care sunt expuse persoanele ce sufera de diabet zaharat de tip II si se caracterizeaza prin slaba vascularizare a retinei, fiind cea mai frecventa cauza a orbirii pe fond diabetic, este de parere Aleix Sala-Vila, autorul principal al studiului.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span id=\"more-34144\"><\/span>Echipa condusa de cercetatorul Sala-Vila au tinut sub supraveghere consumul de peste gras la pacientii a caror dieta fusese compusa din alimente cu aport de grasime redus si pe baza de plante. Echipa a constatat ca cei care au consumat peste gras de doua ori pe saptamana au avut un risc scazut pentru declansarea retinopatiei diabetice, prin comparatie cu persoanele care au consumat mai putin peste.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Voluntarii studiului au participat la un studiu, efectuat anterior, in cadrul caruia persoanele cu diabet zaharat de tip II au fost impartite in trei grupuri diferite, fiecarui grup fiindu-i recomandat un regim alimentar diferit, dupa cum urmeaza:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; grupul 1 a urmat o dieta saraca in grasimi<br \/>\n&#8211; grupul 2 a urmat o dieta mediteraneeana, fara carne rosie, pe baza de legume, suplimentata cu ulei de masline extra virgin<br \/>\n&#8211; grupul 3 a urmat o dieta mediteraneeana suplimentata cu 30 de grame pe zi de nuci, alune si migdale \u2013 surse de omega-3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In cadrul acelui studiu s-a constatat ca persoanele ce faceau parte din cel de-al doilea grup au inregistrat un risc scazut pentru dezvoltarea problemelor de vedere.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lucrand cu acelasi grup de participanti, echipa de cercetatori alcatuita de Sala-Vila a chestionat circa 3.600 de barbati si femei, cu varste curpinse intre 55 si 80 de ani, pentru a afla cat de des au consumat peste sau fructe de mare inainte de a participa in cadrul studiului celor trei tipuri de diete.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Iar, odata ce studiul a inceput, cercetatorii spanioli au urmarit indeaproape obiceiurile alimentare ale acestora pe o durata de cinci ani.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cercetatorii au constatat la finalul celor cinci ani ca persoanele care au consumat in mod obisnuit circa 500 de miligrame de acizi grasi omega-3 \u2013 echivalentul a doua portii de peste gras pe saptamana \u2013 au fost cu 48% mai putin susceptibili pentru a dezvolta retinopatie diabetica, prin comparatie cu cei care au consumat mai putine fructe de mare si peste sau deloc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Care ar putea fi explicatia acestei constatari?
